And there was always this image of the husband up there apologizing and the wife standing next to him. I think the show began when we asked, "What are they thinking?" And Robert and I started talking about it from there. ... You know, what’s interesting about a lot of these political scandals is that the women are lawyers, too. Hillary [Clinton] is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer. I think that got us thinking along those lines. That is, we knew she had to go back to work, and we had so many female lawyers to draw on.

Series Summary:
In a wacky Rhode Island town, a dysfunctional family strive to cope with everyday life as they are thrown from one crazy scenario to another. The show follows the adventures of lovable oaf Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) and his hilariously odd family of middle-class New Englanders. Lois (Alex Borstein) is Peter's loving wife, a former Miss Teen Rhode Island who rules the roost but is one step away from a nervous breakdown. "The Amazing Race" is an adventure reality show hosted by Phil Keoghan that pits 10, 11, or 12 teams of 2 or 4 people against each other in a race around the world for approximately 40 days. In a leg, they go to destinations where they will complete a roadblock, a task where 1 person completes (Season 1-7) or 2 people (Season 8), a detour, where you have to decide between two tasks that are usually opposite of each other, and a miscellaneous task. After they complete all these tasks, they will be directed to go to a Pit stop where they will have a 24 hour rest period where they will be able to eat, drink, sleep, and mingle with other teams. The last team to check into the Pit Stop usually is eliminated, but sometimes there is a non-elimination leg in which no one is eliminated. After all teams are eliminated except for 3, these three race to the finish line where the winning team wins 1 million dollars.

The best of the reality series crop is back, with 12 teams of 2 players each racing around the world, trying not to be eliminated at a series of checkpoints in which the last team to arrive is booted from the show. When Tim is coerced to go with Jack on a secret mission Amy is left back at Heartland with Janice to get a young race horse (Cisco) ready for his maiden run. Unfortunately, Amy and Janice butt heads (surprise!) over their opposing methods for training the young racehorse. On the road, Jack forces Tim to talk to Miranda and learns why she doesn't want Shane to have anything to do with Tim, or Heartland for that matter. Meanwhile, Ty's big plans for a special dinner date with Amy are foiled by troublemakers. In the midst of all of this, Mallory is down on love. I know a lot of you are wondering why Lou and the new baby weren't in the Season Premiere. I have to inform you that neither are in this episode either...
In the storyline, Lou and Peter are visiting Peter's parents, showing them their new granddaughter.
The truth is - when the first episodes were being written, Michelle Morgan had not yet given birth to her own daughter, so it was decided to not include Lou in the first block (2 episodes) of filming, so Michelle wouldn't have to rush back to work immediately after having her daughter.
But be patient for just a little bit longer, 'cause in a week you will get to see the baby, you'll learn her name (Yay! - no more calling her "Baby X" or "Mystery Baby" on Twitter) and not only will you get to meet Peter's parents, but something everyone wants to have happen will finally take place.
